Wearing Designer Clothing

By , February 1, 2012 10:53 pm

Wearing designer clothing was not done in our household whilst I was growing up, but then with five children, my parents probably did not have sufficient money to encourage us to think of wearing designer clothing. That has stayed with me and I do not think about wearing designer clothing even now that I can afford them.

However, these days, most children appear to be conscious of designer clothing. This probably illustrates the power of promoting and the fact that contemporary advertisers are more callous in targeting children than there predecessors in the Fifties and Sixties were.

The difficulty with children wanting to wear designer clothing though is that they do not understand why they should wear a particular garment, they merely see the adverts and the fact that their idols and friends are wearing them.

There is a good argument for wearing designer clothing but imitation is not one of them. Neither is having been persuaded to by advertisers and friends. The only decent reason for preferring designer clothing is because you like a designer’s style and theme. Most designers have a particular style although this can change from year to year.

A great deal of designers splatter their names all over their clothes, which ruins them for me. However, all clothing designers like to have their name or logo in a prominent position. They do this for two reasons: firstly to promote because otherwise their clothing is not distinctive enough ( a Lacrosse sweater without the crocodile is unrecognizable); and secondly, so that the wearer can show off the fact that they are wearing designer clothing.

Frequently clothing designers will branch out into other regions of designer wear. For example, Gucci sanction shoes, sunglasses and wrist watches. Gucci is hoping that if you love their shoes you will also try their sunglasses and wrist watches as well. In fact, this tactic works well. Wearers of designer clothing develop a relationship with the designers that they like and are more probable to have confidence in that brand.

The problem for most people is the cost. Designer clothing is a lot more costly than ordinary clothing and that is how it is meant to be, because part of the rationale for wearing designer clothing is snob value – to set yourself apart from the herd. This allows clothing designers to earn vast profits which opens up another difficulty – counterfeiting.

Where there is a chance of big profits you will find counterfeits, fakes or copies. If you are inexpert at recognizing designer clothing, you could easily get sucked into spending a lot of money on counterfeit items. Often it is not the clothing itself that is copied, although that is done as well, but the accessories are imitated a lot.

I have no figures, but I would not be astonished if there are ten times as many phony Gucci sunglasses in the world as real ones. So be careful, particularly if you do not have sight of what you are purchasing, as in the case of the Internet and be wary of market stalls and back street bulk traders.

Invest some thought into professional video production

By , December 30, 2011 11:54 pm

Do you want to experience the benefits of professional video production like so many other modern businesses? If so, there are many benefits to be enjoyed. One of the main plus-points of professional video production is that it can make for very cost effective marketing, although to be able to take advantage of this and the numerous other benefits, you need to get your thinking cap on.

Modern videos come in an enormous variety of different styles- there’s a style out there for every company. However, as there are so many different video styles to choose from, no company can afford to jump in feet first without taking the time to think through a few factors. Some of the things which you should bear in mind when utilising video production services include:

Purpose

There are several different reasons why companies choose to make use of video production- from introductory videos for corporate websites to really unique videos for social media campaigns. To get the results you desire from your video, you need to ensure that its purpose is clear.

The length

The length of videos is one area in which things can all too easily go wrong. Whereas you won’t want to risk boring your target audience with a video which is just that little bit too long, you also won’t want to run the risk of splashing the cash on a video which is far too short and which is instantly forgettable.

The budget assigned to the video

If you’re in the same boat as many companies, in the sense that you have to stick to a tight budget, you should bear your budget in mind through the video production process. This doesn’t have to mean settling for a video which is of poor quality or which doesn’t meet your needs though, as there are experts who can provide you with the right video at the right price.

Bearing the above in mind will go a long way in helping you to achieve an end result which you’re happy with- in the form of a video which helps to boost your business. Thinking these things through prior to heading to a video production professional can make the process run much more smoothly.

It might be that you would rather create a documentary style video. This might help you to give your potential clients a good idea of what your company does and how it might be able to relate to their needs.

It could be that you want to provide viewers with more information about a product or service. If this is the case, then you might want an instructional video. These videos can help viewers gain more of an understanding about what you have to offer them and because of this, they are more likely to use your products and services.

Professional video production can’t be beaten

By , December 29, 2011 2:58 pm

If the next thing on your business agenda is investing in video content, you’ll certainly be making a wise investment, as videos can be unbelievably beneficial- and thousands of modern businesses have already had the pleasure of experiencing these benefits. As a rule of thumb though, video production can only work to its true potential when it’s been produced by a professional.

Video production can be incredibly deceiving, in the sense that it can look a lot easier than it is. The availability of DIY and online video production programmes can make in-house video production even more of a temptation, although as following simple video creation instructions just won’t suffice, it’s a temptation which should be avoided.

Regardless of the purpose for the creation of video content, and regardless of whether it will be viewed by the general public/ target audience or whether it’s for staff eyes only, videos need to be perfectly tailored and perfectly crafted- and only an expert is likely to be able to do this properly.

In-house video production could lead to the production of a video which is of very little use, and this could be a waste of time, budget and manpower. No company wants to face this wastage, especially with businesses looking to make savings wherever possible. Yet another key reason why there’s no beating professional video production.

By opting for professional video production, you can fully enjoy all of the superb benefits of utilising video content without risking any of the risks associated with trying to create your own. Professionals won’t simply press ahead with their own ideas, and they’ll work with you throughout the entire video creation process.

You’ll be amazed at just how much video production experts can be hired for nowadays, and as their services are generally very flexible, you can invest in a video which perfectly meets with your budgetary requirements. Professional video production really can’t be beaten, so don’t think twice about making that investment.
