Women love the smell of perfumes. It is no wonder that the women’s fragrance industry worldwide makes around 9 billion dollars each and every year. It’s also well known that women’s French fragrances have been around for an eternity. This is due to the fact that women love to smell nice, and hence women’s perfume manufacturers are on a never ending quest to try to come up with scents that will appeal to the masses.

Through the years, several kinds of perfumes have been introduced to the market with mixed results. Most of them seemed to smell good, however there are very few that remain on the market long term and have been classic scents, used by a large number of people, and splashed on by many of the most famous women in the world.

The tastes for perfumes are different for everyone. Some like a strong fragrance and some like a subtle one. Despite this fact, the tastes for perfumes always have a point where people’s tastes agree and complement one another. This is irrespective of price and ultimately leads us to the classic fragrances that have the extraordinary power to withstand the test of time. Women, both past and present, never tire of them. So without further ado, here are the top perfumes for women of all time.

Chanel No. 5 – This well known perfume was created by Chanel in 1922. One of the most famous celebrities who claimed to love this perfume so much was none other than Marilyn Monroe. In an interview she said she would not wear any other women’s fragrance to bed but Chanel’s No. 5. This classic perfume has remained popular throughout the decades not only because celebrities endorsed it, but because its classic aroma and staying power makes it a favorite and it remains so to this very day.

L’heure Bleu – It was created long before other fragrances were created. Its name literally means ‘the blue hour’. As one of the oldest, this fragrance has a sweeter bouquet that creates its delightful scent, making it a perfect accompaniment for both young and old.

Creed Tuberose Indiana – It was initially created in 1981 and until now many women including well-known celebrities go after it. This perfume’s scent creates a really sexy feeling and is loved by the likes of Jennifer Love Hewitt and others.

Bulgary Pour Femme – It is one of the most original scents of Bulgari which was created in 1993. This women’s perfume is perfect for a free spirited woman. Its aroma is comprised of a blend of jasmine and violet. This women’s French fragrance has a floral scent which is loved by Whitney Houston and others.

Christian Dior Eau de Dolce Vita – This floral and vivacious scent was created by Christian Dior. Known to anyone, particularly big name stars such as Charlize Theron, this women’s perfume, released in 1996, creates a beautiful scent of femininity.

Why Not Shop Online?

Buying goods and services online is quickly becoming the method of choice. Online shopping can give you competitive prices and a near infinite supply of products.

Online malls are rapidly growing as more and more retail stores are closing there door. As the retail stores dwindle it is becoming harder and harder to find one with a good selection of what you are looking for.

The frustration mounts as people go into a retail stores looking for an item as advertised. When they get to the store they find out the store only carries a limited selection and the rest have to be ordered. I have had this similar experience and was not satisfied with the shopping experience.

So what did I do? I went home and went online. I found the correct backpack and ordered it online at a cheaper price with free shipping. I had the pack in four days.

As customer service and inventory drop at retail stores, more will close their doors. In my opinion only the stores with a true customer first policy will be the ones that last through this era.

Online malls offer everything from video games like the Nintendo Wii, X Box and PS3 to fragrances, jewelry and everything in between.

Finding an online mall that offers wholesale pricing is icing on the cake. Most web malls are set up similar to department store or the specialty retail store you are used to. In my opinion why shop anywhere else.

My only suggestion when shopping online is to find that mall that fits what you are looking for. Just as you would if you were shopping retail, not everystore has what you need. By shopping online you will save time, gas money and lower your stress.

With my past experience, online shopping is the way to go. About one year ago I purchased a product from a retail store that has closed down. At this point if something happens to item I am out. The warranty is no longer active. Just a bit of advice, if you buy at retail, ask them what happens to the warranty if the store closes its doors.

What scent drives you?

It is amazing to me how there are so many different fragrances on the market today with there own distinct aroma. Each fragrance has its own appeal to the consumer that buys it whether it is a richer scent or a more modest scent with a sweet aroma.

Fragrances designers range from Brittany Spears, to Chanel, to Dora the Explorer and each appeal to an individual in its own way. What is that drives a person to purchase a specific fragrance?

Along with the large selection and variety of fragrances, the cost varies just as much. Everything from the very high end to the low end and it because of this I believe the selection is narrowed down a bit.

The range of prices are anywhere from $10-50$ per bottle for the average person and designers such as Ralph Lauren and Nautica can provide to Chanel and then to the extreme of a fragrance called the Imerial Majesty that costs around $215,000.

Now that the selection has been narrowed down by cost, what is the next factor? The smell itself and how it arouses an inviduals senses is the next factor. Although this may seem simple it is very complex and we still do not know why one scent smells good to one person and terrible to another.

Although there is no specific reason why people like what they like there does seem to be a few trends I find interesting. One of them is the cultural aspect. Like cultures tend to like the same scent. Another comparison trend is age. In each of these the aroma may be fruitier than another group or one is a little lighter aroma than another group.

As I read through many articles and researched trends and why we buy what we buy, I have concluded this; we like what we like.

The moral to this story is that with the massive selection on the market in all price ranges, the best thing to do to find the right scent for you is to try samples until you find one you like.
