Do you have a step stool in the home? You should! They are one of the handiest devices around and they are far better inside than full ladders. Step stools give you just the right height to change a light bulb, or to reach high cupboards. More importantly, they can be used to help kids help themselves.
My kids learned to help with the washing up each night using a step stool. They also learned to wash themselves and brush their teeth. What makes step stools valuable is that they give you that extra height, but it’s not high enough to cause any real problems. Kids can slip off the top step of a step stool, and only bruise themselves – and their ego. The same is true for mom and dad. If you don’t have a step stool, get one, you’ll be surprised how handy they are.
They say the only sure things in life are death and taxes. Plenty of people get away without paying taxes, no one avoids death – yet. Not only is death guaranteed, if you die while you have a young family, then you can almost guarantee you are going to leave them in financial trouble – unless of course you thought ahead and took out life insurance. Most people don’t, and they are often the ones that are caught out.
If you have a family, then you owe them some security for the future. And a word from the wise, make sure both mom and dad are covered, you just never know!
I have resisted the urge to rush out and buy an ipod for several years now. I have an mp3 player, and it works really well, and only cost me $10. Sure, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like an ipod, but it does store enough music for my liking, and it reproduces the sound really well – it’s also reliable.
Just lately I have noticed a lot of electronic gear that you can just plug an ipod into. Bedside alarm clocks, kitchen mini sound systems (good for the kids as well), and even car sound systems. The problem is, my mp3 player has an entirely different interface to the ipod, so it can’t be plugged into them. With the price of ipods coming down all the time, I think its time I invested in one. I also hear there’s an ipod touch sale at the source – even more reason to hop online to get one.
If you don’t have the right type of spa cover, or one that is in good condition, then your spa could be making you sick. One of the common causes of several illnesses are shared spas. Sportspeople have been floored after sharing a spa with their team mates, sometimes with very serious illnesses. These illnesses can be as serious as Legionnaires Disease and some forms of bacterial Meningitis.
While most of us spend a lot of time ensuring the spa itself is clean, if your cover is waterlogged then it could be harboring many of these diseases. Add a little sunlight and the conditions are perfect for those diseases to grow and multiply – my advice, check your spa cover regularly and change it when it no longer performs its job.
Are you a bargain shopper, or just looking to save money. Here’s a huge tip – buy next winters requirements now, as this winter is coming to a close. There are two reasons for buying now. The first is pretty straightforward. There are many business that are now looking to offload their remaining winter stock so they can get in spring and summer stock.
The second reason is a little sneakier. Products like say, anelectric blanket, will most likely be more expensive come next winter. Prices are going up everywhere and on everything. So buy now, and you will most likely save on current prices. That saving will look even bigger when you see the prices next winter. I always buy products at the end of season sales – it just makes sense.
