There are some anniversaries that are more special than others. The fiftieth wedding anniversary is a traditional event that everyone likes to celebrate. However, people have different milestones on life. I know one mother who was diagnosed with cancer several years ago. Her aim in life was to make it to her 21st wedding anniversary – which she did, and she looks like making her 30th as well.

It can often be difficult finding anniversary gift ideas for moms, especially those that are special, or better yet, unique. The easiest way to arrange a unique gift is by having one that has her name on it. Rather than sticking to engraved jewelry, for example, consider pewter products, or better yet, gifts that include special photos from her life, or from the lives of those special to her. They are truly unique, and will always be treasured.

You know, mothers are special people and Mother’s Day is really the only day where we not only thank our mothers, we also celebrate the act of motherhood. It doesn’t matter in which part of the world you live, if you have a mother, then Mother’s Day is still Mother’s Day. Forgetting is just not acceptable. Worse yet, some people blame slow postal services for not sending a late gift.

Did you know you can send flowers online? You can, and most mothers love fresh flowers – especially when they come out of the blue – when they least expect them. If you have been a little negligent with Mother’s Day over the years, surprise your mom this year with flowers – it couldn’t get much easier than ordering them online.

Mother’s Day is one of those days that never seem to come around quickly enough. I sometimes think that mother’s day should be celebrated every month – let’s get together and make the last Sunday of each month Mother’s Day. One of the nicest gifts you can give any mother flowers. I particularly like living flowers – the kind of flower you buy that’s still attached to the plant and comes in a pot.

This year, my personal favorite is the Tea Cup Orchid – yes, a live orchid in flower growing in a tea cup and saucer. It’s cute, it’s alive, and in this case, it’s one of the easier orchids to grow. Mom will love it, and she’ll love for more than just a week – it’s alive.
