Working Off The Easter Chocolate Feast

I don’t eat a lot of chocolate, even at Easter, and when I do, it’s generally the dark high cocoa content chocolate. Even so, it still seems to end up on my midriff, adding an inch or so to my waistline. Whenever there’s a party to celebrate I seem to pack on a pound or two more.

The local gym loves those party times, I end up there two or three times a week trying to get rid of those extra pounds. I have them fooled this time around. I decided to take a supplement instead, and to walk as much as possible. It seems the phytodren is trying hard to do its job, and I am enjoying the walking – I just feel I need that extra bit of chocolate once I’ve finished.

Taking Social And Environmental Awareness To The Corporate Level

Businesses around the world often pay lip service to social and environmental issues. Sure, they throw the occasional dollar at a charity, and they may even help to promote those causes. In most cases, it is only lip service. The management of a business passes the management of who gets what and when down to others, for example, a PR or marketing department. It then becomes a PR issue, not a social or environmental issue.

Other businesses take a real hands on approach. Management becomes involved with the process, they actually take a hands on approach. The sterkly pride of lions is a good example. Mind you, I don’t know how “hands-on” they are, I am not sure I would want to try a hands-on approach to an adult lion. However, the intent is there, and that’s what’s important.

Marching Through A Month Of Birthdays

March is the horror month for me when it comes to birthdays. I have one child with a birthday on the 15th, then back to back birthdays on the 29th and 30th. Just for good measure, Easter is the first weekend in April, then I have another child with a birthday in the first week of May. I am sure Mother’s Day makes an appearance during this period as well.

For the kids, it’s become a little easier. I know if I buy the latest and best wii games, they’ll swap them around and everyone will be happy. I just hope they never grow out of games. If they do, I’ll be in big trouble.

Investing For Fun Or Profit

Can you invest for fun? I would argue yes. As a kid, I collected stamps. I had thousands and whilst I new some were worth a little more than others, I really collected for fun. I know they had some value, our home was broken into and they were one of the few things stolen.

Over the years I have met a lot of people who have been collectors. Yes, at the back of their minds was the long term investment potential. In the short term, it was simply fun – a hobby. I know one lady who is an avid collector of coins, in particular, silver coins. She would buy morgan silver dollars, for example, not for their investment value, but because she liked what she saw. Her rationale? Her kids can enjoy the investment potential they provided after she was gone, in the mean time, it was a great hobby for her. A hobby and a nest egg for her kids.

Being Human Is No Longer A Medical Defense

Is it okay for a doctor to make a mistake, then use the “it’s okay, I’m only human, and we all make mistakes occasionally” excuse? These days, it’s definitely not. We all expect our doctors to be spot on perfect every time – they’re not human, they’re robots. When a doctor does make a mistake, watch the daggers come out, at least, watch the lawyers come out. Suing a doctor is as common today as buying milk – and some patients are winning huge payouts for minor problems.

A good doctor needs
new york medical malpractice insurance. Without that insurance, they are bankrupt if found to have erred. In some areas, a doctor cannot practice medicine if they do not have malpractice insurance first.
