The Worst Men’s Fashion Mistakes
Be it right or wrong, men are commonly considered to be less fashion conscious than women. For There are some incredibly obvious fashion mistakes from men, and we’ve detailed just a few of them for you. We can’t go on without mentioning the socks and sandals combination and, equally, the mullet. Socks and sandals is widely considered a huge fashion “no no” in practically any circumstance you can imagine. Moreover, you can’t honestly claim that the weather is so uncertain to ever justify this look. With the mullet, there has never been a more epic fail in terms of a man’s individual style or “fashion”.
Trousers too short/too long: The length of your trousers should rest on your laces (or where your laces should be, if you are wearing loafers), when stood “at ease” (feet shoulder length apart and bent, slightly.
Blazer Jacket and jeans: According to leading men’s fashion designer, Ozwald Boateng: “The blazer should never look like an adopted suit jacket and the jeans should always be dark, or darker. The tones should also match, or at least complement each other.” However, when it goes wrong, which can happen quite easily, the “Jeremy Clarkson look” is often the result. Proceed with caution on this one.
Novelty ties: It’s OK to like Homer Simpson, of course it is. Also, you could probably impress a potential partner if you can play the piano. To depict either on a tie, however, is fashion suicide. Avoid at all costs. The same goes for novelty socks and, in particular, “Christmas socks” adorned with pictures of a loveable (but in no way fashionable) red nosed reindeer!
Suit label on the sleeve: Quickly, yet carefully, remove this unnecessary aspect from the blazer of your suit. Despite being “hand stitched”, even by the designer, they would quickly turn a whiter shade of pale if they thought for a minute you had any intention of keeping it there.
But one thing that certainly ISN’T a fashion mistake, is the mens leather coat, a firm favourite for years!
